Privacy notice

Small Firms Channel is run by Hey Legal Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC585945), whose registered office is c/o Smith and Wallace Accountants, 1 Simonsburn Road, Kilmarnock, KA1 5LA. Hey Legal Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.

When you register your interest, we collect:

• your first and last name
• your work email address
• the name of your firm
• your role
• the size of your firm

We also record the date you registered and which version of this privacy notice was in place at the time.

We use your information to:

• let you know when Small Firms Channel launches
• send you Small Firms Channel briefings and related updates
• check that registrations fit the audience the Channel was created for — people working in Scottish law firms with up to 39 lawyers

We do not sell your information, and we do not share our subscriber list with advertisers.

We rely on your consent, which you give when you register. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

We use trusted service providers to run Small Firms Channel:

• our website hosting and database provider, which stores registrations in the EU (Ireland)
• email service providers that we use to send briefings and updates

These providers act on our instructions and may only use your information to provide their services to us.

Your registration is stored in the EU. If an email service provider we use processes information outside the UK or EU, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK-approved contract terms or an adequacy decision.

We keep your information for as long as you remain registered. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we will remove it within 30 days, unless we need to keep a minimal record so that we do not contact you again.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
• ask us to correct information that is wrong
• ask us to delete your information
• ask us to restrict or stop using your information
• receive your information in a portable format
• withdraw your consent at any time
